Parkos is expanding and we are looking for a Legal Counsel. About Parkos

Parkos is the platform for finding - and booking parking spots near airports. When Parkos started we were offering parking spots at Schiphol. Now, seven years later, we are servicing hundreds of thousands of customers at airports all over the world, such as The Netherlands, Belgium, France, the United States, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Australia, and Germany. Our customers go to the Parkos website, compare and then book a parking spot with one of Parkos' 1000+ parking partners. Parkos is expanding and we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel.

About the role and team

Parkos (HQ based in the Netherlands) is a fast-growing platform for airport parkings. We have grown more than 100% year over year in the last year. The next step for Parkos is to be the world's No. 1 platform for parking providers at airports. To be able to reach that goal, legal’s goal is to ensure best legal practices across all Parkos departments as well as assist in strategic decision making. Due to growth, Legal is currently focused on playing a key role in organising our corporate structure, evaluating the legal components of our growth strategies, and negotiating commercial contracts. 

Responsibilities

  • As the first legal hire, you will be responsible for setting up the legal department at Parkos, and communicating with outside legal counsel as needed to address legal questions.

  • Responsible for legal support and strategy in a number of countries and subject areas, including the launch of new markets

  • Draft and negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements with a focus on commercial and corporate contracts

  • Assess, advise and regularly report on legal risks, whilst proposing constructive solutions and challenge business decisions from a legal perspective.

  • Advise and update internal stakeholders on laws and regulations that impact the business

  • Work with different departments to address opportunities for contract, policy and process improvements

Your profile

  • You are a generalist with experience in contracts, entity formation, international expansion, employment, IP, compliance, governance, and litigation 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher 

  • 3 years of relevant working experience (comprising both in-house preferably scale-up and law firm)

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision under tight deadlines

  • Proactive attitude and thrive in a dynamic work environment

  • Basic understanding of data protection (including GDPR) and consumer laws

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent business judgment, interpretation and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Being able to identify the issue, coming up with solutions, implementing those solutions, and evaluating their effectiveness
